Our county's Extension home economics program helps strengthen family life. In a rapidly changing world, the challenges facing individuals and families in our county are great. With A problem solving philosophy, we strive to develop programs to deal with complex issues facing local families. We are helping people build leadership and other skills. We teach through group training sessions and local programs and community projects. We are dedicated to solving community needs, concerns and issues.

ICAN (Ideas for Cooking and Nutrition)

Come join our classes that we hold at the Grant County Cooperative Extension Office. We offer nutritional recipes that you prepare in class and can take to share with your families. The classes that we offer are: Starting with the Basic, The Food Guide Pyramid, Understanding Food Labels, Planning Makes a Difference, Making most of your Food Dollars, Keeping Food Safe, The Bread Group, The Vegetable Group,The Fruit Group, The Milk Group, The Meat Group, Breakfast, Eating Right for Two, Feeding your New Baby from 0 to 12 months,and Eating Right and Light. We hold them on Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 12noon. There is no fee to attend these classes--We would welcome a new face!
